Fire element - Summer. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Summer is the time of the element Fire (San Jiao/Pericardium and Heart/Small Intestine meridians). This is the peak of our outward flowing energy culminating in the Summer Solstice and the time of vitality, passion, love, nature blooming, and growth everywhere powered by the sun. Today we focus on balance - Fire energy that supports our passion for living yet doesn't overwhelm us. Excess fire can turn to anger, acting out, overwhelm and too little fire can feel like we have no drive or love for life.
The areas we are focusing on are the inner/outer arms, neck, upper back, shoulders, upper chest. Join me on the mat for some stillness, quiet, and energy connection... Exploring quietly on your own.
Props: none but feel free to add any you feel you might want in your practice today. I will be using a blanket today for my own practice as that is what supports me : )...and of course Lucy!
