In Traditional Chinese Medicine, our liver filters, detoxifies, nourishes, replenishes, and stores the blood - helping move blood and Qi throughout the body. The liver stores sugar in the form of glycogen, releasing it into the blood stream whenever the body requires extra energy and builds various proteins required for growth and repair of the body.
In balance, the liver meridian brings compassion, kindness, generosity, healthy decision making, and the ability to plan and be creative. Out of balance, the liver can cause anger, frustration, jealousy, and depression and the inability to relax. As the liver is involved in SO much of our bodies health and wellness, working with the liver meridians can be vastly beneficial!
