Restorative Yoga can be a beautifully supportive and healing practice when you are struggling with an SI Sacroiliac joint flareup and/or lower back pain and can aid you in recovery. As someone who has struggled with SI joint issues for over 10 years, this is a go to practice to release and allow my body to soften as well as release all the tension built up in the surrounding tissues from the pain in this area.
Fully supported by the earth, props, and the wall, we explore poses that are stabilizing, gentle, and maintain your SI in a more neutral alignment to reduce pain and inflammation.
Props: 1-2 blankets (1 optional) (pick up a blanket here: http://amzn.to/2v0U0eh) and 1 bolster or 2 pillows (or pick up a bolster here: http://amzn.to/2yJVoaj) from your bed or sofa for support but feel free to gather all the blankets and soft supports you might want to use to support you in your practice.
